Some people want to buy a still. Others want to build one. The 60 gallon EZ Kit is for the builders, and it's the largest still on our size list.
List facts
- Size: 60 gallon
- Budget: from $1200
- Build: copper kit you solder yourself
- Use: distilled water, essential oils, and permitted spirits or fuel alcohol
The builder's still
Soldering your own copper still is the most hands-on way into the hobby. Before any vapor moves, you've already worked the metal and seen how every joint fits together. That pays off at the bench. When you know your rig seam by seam, running it feels less like following instructions and more like running your own experiment: you control the heat, you watch the vapor, and you make the cuts.
Who it suits
This kit is for buyers who are comfortable with a torch and solder and want big capacity on a moderate budget. At $1200, it's the same price as our 30 gallon complete Advanced Model with twice the capacity. The trade-off is that you put it together yourself. Not ready to solder? The 50 gallon complete distiller is the closest finished option on our size list, and the 30 gallon EZ Kit is the budget pick in the same EZ line.
